The Department of Opthalmology in Fathima Hospital encompasses all aspects of both medical and surgical ophthalmology. Surgical operations carried out at the hospital include modern small incision cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, glaucoma filtering operations and minor lid procedures. All surgeries are performed using the latest micro-surgical equipment. Patients have their cataracts removed using phacoemulsification with small incision and no-stitch techniques using local anaesthesia.
