The department of obstetrics and gynaecology is managed by three eminent doctors 24 hours a day.
Dr. Sathi John, graduated from Delhi University has been in the service of this institution from the beginning. She has many years of experience from the most backward Wayanad district as well as from various hospitals of Calicut district. Dr. Ratnam who retired as Asst. Prof. of obstetrics and gynaecology from the medical college, Calicut has got more than two decades of rich experience form Calicut Medical College, which still claims the highest number of deliveries per year in the world. Dr. Anitha Ashokan did her training in laparoscopy and infertility from the prestigious PGI of Chandigarh. She is managing our infertility section along with Dr. Gopinath who is a visiting consultant to this institution. He is one of the pioneers in the infertility field and has the credit of the first ICSI conception in Kerala.
Our well organized labour room along with NICU and OT complex is an asset to any institution. NICU care is given to the very pre-term babies. Complicated surgeries with cardiac and medical problems are usually managed here. Epidural analgesia for labour is being practiced. Most advanced uterine artery embolisation for Severe PPH and for those case contraindicated for usual Hysterectomy is being practiced here by the interventional cardiologist Dr. P.K. Ashokan.
Laparoscopoic surgeries are done for infertility work up as well as for other routine cases. Most modern infertility work up is carried out in this hospital with the help of Dr. Gopinathan. This institution is only lacking in IVF and ICSI in this field.
