Gastroenterology
Gastroenterology deals with disorders of the digestive system which includes the esophagus (food pipe), stomach, small and large intestines, gall bladder, biliary tracts, and pancreas. The field of Hepatology deals with diseases of the liver. Comprehensive care for diseases of the esophagus, stomach, large and small intestines, and rectum is provided with an emphasis on the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Our facilities include a complete modern Care Endoscopy Unit that performs all procedures like Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopies, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, and ERCP. Patients include those with pre-cancer or cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, G.I. bleeding disorders, strictures, or obstructions of the G.I. tract, and stones or strictures within the common bile duct. Our staff is made up of experienced faculty physicians and nurses specializing in gastrointestinal endoscopies. They work closely with nutritionists and physicians from other specialties to provide comprehensive and collaborative care.
