Oral Maxillofacial Surgery:

Mainly deals with treatment of all types of facial deformities and injuries. Mainly we do orthodontic surgeries to correct abnormally proclined and upper and lower jaws and abnormally retruded lower jaws. Orthodontic surgery is actually bliss to many people. This branch also deals with treatment of impacted 3rd molar/wisdom tooth and difficult extraction.

All these are done either in minor OT, major OT within the hospital.

Department of Orthodontia:

Deals with proper alignment of teeth i.e. bringing the forwardly placed teeth back or correcting irregularly placed in to proper direction.

Department of Prosthodontia:

deals with replacing the lost teeth. Teeth lost due to various reasons. It can be single one/multiple teeth. It can be replaced in 2 ways.

> Removable prosthesis
> Fixed Prosthesis.

Removable type- made of plastic resin. The patient himself can easily remove it, and that should be cleaned daily.

Fixed Type- a. FPD/Bridge

b. Implant

Bridging – with the help of or by taking support from teeth adjacent to missing teeth. The missing teeth is permanently fixed. Bridging is off 3 types

> Full metal
> Metal fused to acrylic
> Ceramic / porcelain

Implant

This is the most advanced, latest technique. With the help of biocompatible, metal mostly Titanium, the teeth is screwed or fixed in to the jawbone. This is useful in single tooth missing or tooth loss.

Department of Paedodontics:

This Department mainly deals with prevention and cure of dental diseases in children.Myofunctional therapy – early correction of mild tooth malalignment is also done here and also correction of habits like thump sucking, mouth breathing, lip biting etc

Department of Periodontics:

treatment of gum diseases like gum bleeding, bad odour, bad taste, and mobility of teeth. That is with the help of oral prophylaxis, complete scaling and polishing, thereby removing stains, plaque and calculus and by doing flap surgeries and bone grafting and conservative.

Department of Eadondontics & Conservative Dentistry

Mainly deals with treatment of all types of dental decay including very simple or normal filling to Root Canal Treatment & Placing crowns.
