The department of CTVS consists of a modern, exclusive operation theatre and a four-bedded intensive care unit complex. There is also a six-bedded intermediary intensive care unit.

The operation theatre is fully equipped to carry out all types of cardiac thoracic and vascular surgeries. The hardware includes a stockert-sheley, Heart Lung Machine, Dragger Anesthetic Ventilator. OT lights, which provide cool light for long surgeries, Modern electrocartery equipment and invasive pressure monitors. The software includes sophisticated equipment to carry out Beating Heart Surgeries and Pediatric Surgeries.

The post-operative ICU is also well equipped with SIEMENS Ventilators, invasive pressure monitors, NIBP and Spo2 monitors, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, patient warmers etc.

The unit is headed by Dr. K.Varadarajan who is assisted by a team of cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists. Dr. K.Varadarajan has got more than 20yrs of experience in this field and has performed more than 5000 surgeries. Both Adult cardiac Surgeries (By-pass, Beating Heart Surgeries, Valve replacement) and Pediatric problems (Hole in heart, Blue Baby Syndrome) are managed in equally efficient way. Lung Surgeries are also done with severe minimally invasive methods. Last but not the least, the team is assisted by well trained, dedicated, nurses.
